Hope for a Transformative Moment

Being a resident of Arizona has been a difficult fact for the past year, for me.  Our state has been under the magnifying glass and now all eyes are on us because of the shootings.  

We ask why do things like this happen?  So senseless and tragic.  This young man is clearly not in his right mind and there has been much discussion about what made him do this awful act.  Was he caught up in the words in the media  ...the the words of hate and violence...at least I believe he felt the energy.  The energy of these thoughts made it seem normal,l to an unbalanced person, to do what he did.


Arizona and the nation now needs to soul search.  It is always sad that it takes such devastating acts to make us stop our negative behavior.  This young man is a Judas of our time and the victims must not be just people shot for no reason.  We all need to take this time to create hope out of  such an evil event.    There needs to be, as Representative Cleaver stated today,..."Hope for a Transformative Moment."  Otherwise it is a battle cry for war with each other.
